Small mammals at Walmsley
Following an invitation from Cornwall Birdwatching and Preservation Society and some very successful otter surveys we were privileged to be able to access Walmsley Sanctuary which is normally closed to public access beyond the hides. Eight of us placed and collected Longworth traps around the site and recorded field and bank voles (strangely no mice…) along with rabbit, badger, mole and field vole signs and of course otter spraint collected for the CCOP. We were also treated to a couple of brown hare sightings. Thanks to Adrian for organising and guiding the event and helping to identify the assorted birds and insects along the way.
